Measure the Universe
you asked me if i loved you
and i am so close,
i can no longer see
which must mean a stronger love
does grip you and me
you asked me if i loved you
and with tears in my eyes
i said, when you go away
there is such a gap inside
and i cannot imagine life
without you right here
like i cannot imagine losing my legs
or the well of my tears
you asked me how much i loved you
and i said, measure the universe
this is such a hard time for us
the world seems harsh and full of hurt
and i have been carrying a bag of failure
from one adventure to the next
now you are the rhythm
to the heart that pumps inside my chest
