Even When Runways Fail
i can feel –
the presence,
but it is in the past
she fades,
visually,
but inside –
maintains a healthy reality
no devon to share
for us,
down here
this adventure
securely, ‘post’
her life.
wrapped up warm
keep on holding tight
even when runways fail
there is a need for landing lights
a sting,
a bite,
a tragic waste of life
a plucky fellow –
inside, full of might
i can feel –
the presence
but perhaps not as a cast
somewhere pleasant
somewhere in the past
