Fix What should be Fixed

put my arms around you
somehow
fix what should be fixed
i do,
i retreat into myself
a scene from my past
flashes before my eyes
the days
when i had to prop them up
as a child
no, it was never enough
a diet of insecurity
and isn’t life tough
place my hopes with you
convince you
that you are special
my life is in your hands
and we are that life
that you have always craved
it is there in your lands
put my arms around you
and hope you understand
