Red Left Cap – Written Tuesday 22nd December 2020 (Aged 45)

Red Left Cap

these owl like
working class conservatives
riveting –
the destructive ship
they doff their steel wool cap
and show –
no mighty steel
they build with strong arms
and keen eyes
just to perfect throwing others –
off the ladder
the one they hurriedly pull up
they have stove pipe values
puffing away like a steam train
yet, in their own church –
they never own the blame
they mine our hips
and search our minds
a testament to conservatism
repelling any colourful change
these owl like –
working class conservatives
with puddle like minds
owl like –
without the capacity to understand
i do not doff –
my red left cap
i would rather hold my comrade
than cling to conservatisms back
