My Voice Feels Small
sometimes
my voice feels small
and yet, i need it
to walk tall
to find itself a home
because sometimes
it feels all alone
and,
i am not a clone
there is pain and anguish
that we carry through life
that we live with
and try to accept –
as we get older
and as the years race by
we find ourselves
trying to understood loss
and untimely death
we feel heartstrings snap
in the cavity of our chest
sometimes,
my voice feels small
and it struggles to climb over walls
