Rapscallion
an evening spent pondering dreams
our dreams and so many things,
which are one in a million
a melding of two minds
invaded by a mischievous rapscallion
one who would only bathe in their jealously
we cannot hide from this thing
which is chasing her and me
rapscallion, a holder of feelings
but crucified by insecurity and self doubt
they are a beauty, far from a ruin
if only this rapscallion could see it
maybe then, they would just believe it
an evening designed for two
spent as an uncomfortable three
i could not escape the cunning
we need our time and space
setting sail on some antique galleon
just to escape some little rapscallion
