When the Skies Opened Up
i must have been young
when the skies opened up
i must have been…
and I must have craved
motherly touch
when the skies opened up
and I knew I would not be enough
i must have been…

that the therapy queue
was too long
and as I waited in the queue
another pretty face came along
another song and dance job
came along,
for me to lose
another daring darling muse
came along,
for me to lose
i must have been young
when I realised
i would have to accept the burden
of intolerable mental health
that was silly clumsy hands
would forever be putting up wonky shelves
i must have been young
when the skies opened up
i must have been…
