How Lucky (You Can Be)
Girl was cruel,
but girl was a teenage thought
and just a fool.
I sold her the story of my life,
and she used it as a tool
to leave me broken in two.
Girl was cruel.
I held myself in astral form —
the foetal position,
the one we adopt before we are born.
Girl thought she was fantastic
and decided to pour scorn.
I was not made of elastic,
and soon I was ripped and torn.
But girl is alright.
All your life you will fight,
because you never realise
when you have things alright.
but,
There is no light behind your eyes,
there is no life.
