Life and It’s Ladders

i have not got this far
without being
a little wily on these legs
i have not got this far
without being just a little shrewd
some would say,
friendly or a little crude
but,
that is just how it is
pick out the psychology if you must
escapology,
and if you want trust
then find a way out of this truss
i have not got this far
without a little know how
and to know how it is done
and to this personal party
many things have come along
life and its ladders,
finding each and every rung
