I Would Have Spoken To You This Morning – Written Saturday 14th January 2012 (Aged 36)

I Would Have Spoken To You This Morning

i would have spoken to you this morning
i would have come over
for a chat and a cup of tea
i have lost you
and a part of me
the tears have dried to a dull ache
living memories,
take on a glow as they fade
i would have told you
all that you mean to me
but you have, like we all will
you have boarded that boat
and sailed away for good
i wanted to call you
it was during the week
i had not heard your voice
and i just needed to speak
then i remembered we had lost you
only last week
it hurts, it hurts so much
no more speaking
and just a memory of one last touch
i promise, we will be good for you
and we will all make you proud
even though you are no longer around
