Be That As it May
be that as it may
join me in a day
be like kids
with our velcro shoes
bought,
through hard earned dues
please the picky –
and then you can choose
it is so tricky,
but that is not the news
for every bit of good fortune
someone else gets used
if the world is electric
is that what we are when we’re born
is that why it crackles in a storm
be that as it may
this is our way
it is not particularly original
but it gets us by
