Hastily Wrapped Gift
does it make you happy
or does it make you sad
too bad
and i guess,
too late and too little
we swam in your sea
we climbed up your rocks
short straws
and laboured lots
all pans,
and add in those pots
does it make you happy
or does it make you sad
do you tell yourself
if you do,
how many times a day
we do not know you
i wonder if the dust goes away
let me tell you how it is,
for the life that is more
than a hastily wrapped gift
