Words Can Not Describe The Loss
no words can describe this loss
it cannot describe what was taken
so i trued to keep the feelings –
in an old 1920’s milk bottle
the kind that had a cardboard top
i tried to keep it in that milk bottle
but the loss was to great
and the bottle was too small
so i tried to keep scented flowers
to hide and pass off the small of failure
you know the whiff of hurt
and the all the cogs that no longer work
no words can describe the loss
no words can describe what was stolen
if only they had opened their eyes
maybe they would have really known
no words can describe the loss
i tried to plant it in a terracotta pot
the type i keep on my windowsill
but in truth i had already lost the lot
but they had lost me, they let me go –
they had me, now they will never know
