Not Very Desirable
not very desirable
that is a wonderful turn of phrase
but what does it really mean
surely it is prejudice locked in a cage
when people say,
not very desirable
what do they mean
that they have not suckled –
on the tortuous middle class dream
where postcode snobbery exists
where location defines you
because it has to be about where you live
not very desirable
people may turn up their noses
and quietly hope to forget their roots
but their plastic palaces
have such feeble loot
not very desirable
lower to average income families
an unwanted intrusion –
into the white middle class reality
not very desirable
behind closed gates they hide
hoping that they neve fail
left to live on the other side
