The Learning Game
i watch you as you scrabble around
i see you,
writing reams and reams of words
there you are writing in comments
strangely more than you do in verse
then i watch you deleting comments
ignoring what you do not want to hear
i watch you excitement at approval
if only someone could truly hold you near
i watch you writing about,
the human being you would like to be
i watch the desperate need to be loved
and the longing to be free
i watch you as you scrabble around
taking those emotional journeys
the type,
that so many of us did in out youth
the days when we froze in the rain
and longed for a weatherproof roof
i cannot judge you nor can i complain
we all need help with the learning game
if only someone could hold you near
you are so well loved,
such a shame you cannot embrace your fear
