Never Enough
i remember you
but,
do you remember me?
do you remember me –
with my, ‘puppy love’
and how i thought –
we fitted like a glove
but it was never enough
i remember you
but,
you were younger
and we both appeared naïve
whatever i gave you
you could not quite believe
i just wanted to, ‘save you’
but i could not save myself
i just wanted you to be yourself
yet i only wanted to be somebody else
