There Is Life – Written Monday 20th March 2023 (Aged 48)

There Is Life

there is life –
but what does any of it mean
is any of it –
fuel for our aspirations and our dreams
and i know –
there is love
but then we breakdown
does it have the required push and shove
i know there is luck
but when we breakdown
who will supply the two truck
there is me
but what does that mean
as years add their layers to a relationship
is there more than the virtual dream
do we value our touch
there is life,
our life,
is it enough?
and what does it mean
there is so much to consider
there are pills people take to fill gaps
when expectations fail to deliver
and there is loose change
caught inside my purse
there is life –
and it cannot be a curse
if i wish upon a star is that too much
really, is it too much?
all any of us want to be surely
is useful and somehow, somehow enough
