Refugees In The Past – Written Tuesday 28th March 2023 (Aged 48)

Refugees In The Past

you have a hate for, ‘immigrants’
migration fills up your mind
but you yourself are a refugee
in this current space and time
this modern world,
which is alien to your eyes and poorly cast
so you and your ilk –
have climbed into your very own –
‘small boats’
and travelled into the past
after all to you,
the modern world is about, ‘snowflakes’,
‘political correctness’,
and younger people –
who apparently,
are offended by everything these days
you are clamouring for a past
of which you have defended
you are refugees in the modern world
and an asylum in the past is what you seek
why don’t you stay where you are
and make good with what you have?
but you will not
you and your ilk clamber into small boats
and head for a time that is happily forgot
you have a hate for, ‘immigrants’
but you’re all displaced in this modern place and time
why don’t you clamber into your small boats
and claim your asylum in the past
after will be fine, we can accept the passage of time
