Fall Away
i watch you fall away
i reach out
and try to find something to say
i court the night
and i romance the day
i see it in your eyes
they were the first to move away
i wish i could reach out
i wish i knew what to say
i reach out
with my arms outstretched
i contemplate the pain
as my heart heaves within my chest
i feel that my sanity
is under arrest
i know you are not there
it is not the same
just saying that you care
i have seen the cupboards in your soul
and they are so bare
i would like an answer
but there are none going spare
i watch you fall away
i reach out
i scream but find nothing to say
i try to shout
but i know it’s already gone away
