I Know You Looked

i know you looked –
in the magic box
with its magic key
and its magic locks
what did you find –
did it confirm –
the worse fears –
of your mind?
did you fall back again
into the mould
did you yearn to deliver
did you meet the cold
the old friend –
who makes you shiver
or was it the young friend –
who makes you feel bold
i know you looked –
did you like –
the things that you saw
did you like the box
hidden in the drawer
it’s a magic place
with a deadly lock
