Did I Ever Love You?

saw your picture and wondered –
how i had once so loved you,
so much that it broke me
so captivated by you –
that it broke me
so in love with you it did actually hurt
but your picture –
just left me wondering
the specialness i once thought –
radiated from other pore
was clearly,
no more
and i wonder what was it i once adored
you left me broken
and bust every spoke on my wheel
you knew of my love
and went in hard on how i feel
i loved you so very much
i thought it was something special
beyond compare…
but i saw your picture the other day
and i wondered what had really been there
