Writing Me A Hymn
they’re writing me a hymn
it says that they know where i have been
who i am seeing
and whereabouts i swim
they’re a constant echo
in the coldest of caves
they’re a thought that beckons
in these particular days
as i rush headlong and blind
and crawl round the maze
they’re the easiest find
in these peculiar days
they’re coming in from the cold
they’re catching the news as it’s been told
they’re writing me a hymn
a verse of time,
but they don’t really know where i’ve been
you might do,
because you might have seen
