There Goes My Friend – Written Tuesday 23rd September 1997 (Aged 22)

There Goes My Friend

there goes my friend
there goes the time on the clock
there goes my thought
the one i tried to send
there goes my sympathy
the sympathy i tried to lend
don’t say this is the end
that cannot be true
if we seem a little scared
then it’s because we are only new
don’t need relationships
and if i do,
then i am careful and i hide it
and if that fails,
i will hang my head down low
now you’ve taken the wind out of my sails
there goes my knowledge
everything i learnt
it felt so hard earned
there goes our time,
we cannot say we’ve kept our sanity
there goes our minds
