Someone To Listen
they just want someone to listen
would not matter,
because loneliness is hard to shatter
wellbeing fragile,
and you know, it does kind of matter
they just want to be different
to stand out,
from the rest of us
childhood after all was just a wendyhouse
and it contained all the trust
but attachments –
were turned into a solid bronze bust
who wants to be ordinary?
like the rest of us are,
and who wants to make their own path
and go alone
they just want someone to listen
maybe a clone,
loneliness shares their space
because loneliness never likes to roam
maybe they were wronged
maybe they are right
living life through narratives –
that always cast shadows of the strangest light

Thank you 🙂 x – this is about people who have a fear of the ordinary, in whatever guide or aspect of their life that might be. It’s almost a fear of not accepting that all life can be mundane and ordinary and actually, that’s okay.
