The Low Bar
this is where we are
liars –
still in charge
but then –
it has always been that way
power –
attracts the type of people –
who we should never hear –
what they have to say
this is where we are
liars –
are still in charge
as people raise no expectation
and install a low bar
we accept the fraud
then they tell us to carry a card
this is where we are
liars –
still in charge
but then,
it has always been that way
a class system based on repetition
with self serving institutions and systems

The Low Bar – Written Tuesday 23rd May 2023 (Aged 48)

Liars are still in charge in deed. I don’t even know what to believe anymore. Everybody is lying.
btw it’s very nice to read something recent from you!

Thank you. This felt pretty simple for me, but it’s about capturing moods and feelings. I guess the real meaning of this is that as a society we’ve tolerated liars and cheats and you get what what you’ve tolerated. In this country we still doff our caps to a class system that completely disempowers us. I am sharing a few recent ones at the moment. Glad you enjoyed this 🙂

It’s good that you’re speaking against this and writing about it. It’s such a shame what we normalize

Thank you – I think people create acceptable narratives, often self serving, probably it’s a survival technique
