Justification – Written February 2002 (Aged 26)

Justification

you do not know me
please do not make me justify myself
it’s the hardest thing –
you can ask a person to do
it isn’t fair and it shouldn’t be true
and i do not need a yearly review
if you gave us a chance
we would show you what we can do
but you know that it would be a spark
and the end of people like you
you do not know me
yet there i am,
i am a set of meaningless of figures
i look out of the window as i am
and all i can do is look into the distance
to see in which direction my dreams ran
you do not know me
so please do not make me justify myself
