Harvest – Written April 2002 (Aged 27)

Harvest

has a lot of thoughts to harvest today
ploughed my fields
and my brow was furrowed
it was that journey into yesterday
that was the one i followed
had a lot of things to do today
ploughed my fields
i played an awkward part
i did not reinvent the wheel
but i did get the horse close to the cart
had a lot thoughts to harvest today
was not sure of the crop
thought i would wander a while
till i stop or i drop,
tried to harvest me a smile
but my brow was furrowed
so i knelt down in marble arch
where they used to have the gallows
i know that days like this exist
days that when they are gone are never missed
