Twenty Seven Years Old
well, here i am –
twenty seven years old
and i look, knowing i have –
twenty seven year old hands
but still with,
childlike plans
but who are you to judge
you do not know who i am
and i cannot remember anyone –
quite like you
wiping away the hurt –
that has stained me since i was fifteen
and holding my hands
well, here i am –
twenty seven years old
and learning to swallow my pride
but it is so hard not to fight
especially those who forgot themselves
and happily take you to pieces
even before they’ve got to know you
