Assertion of Power

every challenge to inequality
is not a resolution
but an assertion of power
that is why there are never any solutions
and debates becomes sour

every challenge to inequality
becomes an unsightly bore
it is an assertion of power
and endless tug of war
that is why there are never any solutions
and that is why debate is always so sore

every challenge to inequality
is merely one more fright
that is why there are never any solutions
and no end in sight
no one wants to concede
because everyone insists they must be right

but every challenge to inequality
lies in the paths of taken back power
that is why the garden never grows
and no one gives each other flowers
it’s an endless punch and an endless kick
where debate is only ever sour
bitterness is always served quite thick
that is why all equality is an assertion of power
