Counting Minutes On The Clock
she sat there –
counting minutes on the clock
wondering how long –
she had been there –
and when she could leave
she watched,
and considered the mental health –
of her host
and as the child got her name wrong
the host tried to make an issue out of it –
as they are prone to do
she looked again,
at the clock hanging on the wall
and the other child –
just looked at her with silence
she wondered –
what evil had been her host –
filled up her ears with
she sat there –
and could only think about leaving
