Sea Mist – Written Thursday 20th July 2023 (Aged 48)

Sea Mist

rationality and insecurity
argue,
but never resolve
and lies tap me on the shoulder
when i feel cold
what to do,
when insecurities have so many tricks
and flaws,
well they have a comprehensive list
who do i listen to,
when there are so many ticks
i wish my foundations –
were made of concrete and bricks
not hope and sea mist
but here i am,
knock, knock on the door of connection
my insecurities –
have won a presidential election
confidence lacks confidence
and has taken charge of directions
but i listen,
i breath in,
and onto me i absolutely cling
i have to find things in me
and be sure of what i bring
it is hard though,
and life experience only does so much
