The Smallest Broom
without an apology
i am forced –
to write it down –
until the ink stops flowing…
and the anger stops knowing
i am –
bruised and battered inside
and i have had versions –
of what they call an apology
but none,
really admit self responsibility
somehow,
it all comes back to me
so here i am –
somehow left with the smallest broom
and the largest mess
but, family somehow pulls me through
friends, well, obviously they do
and she, well she says very little
but her love is reflected in every touch
without an apology
one which does actually mean sorry
i do not have the closure
which i deserve and i do expect
i just have the smallest broom
and the largest mess
