Castors – Written Saturday 4th May 2013 (Aged 38)

Castors

she pushed the trolley with broken castors
and,
she never knew
that my rough edges
had been roughed up by myself
they all play this game like a dutiful task
actually, i do know the rules
and i chose to make that forward pass
do not under estimate
– the people who spend a generation on doorsteps
or hanging off walls
i can laugh along and she never knew
in fact they never knew
