You Have Always Hid Behind Something

you have always hid behind something
lived in another place
looked at life through your fingers
because your hands are all over your face
and i am sure a thought linger
such as,
look at what i could have done
but now the years stack up
and we are no longer that young
when life was such a merry dance
as we sat at the side waiting to take our chance
but you never did,
you were too afraid to dance
instead you opted out and then you hid
you have always hid behind something
