Wheels Turn – Written August 2005 (Aged 30)

Wheels Turn

wheels turn
in a sideshow of emotions
my destination
is all locomotion
the sound of wheels
of metal against metal
takes my vision
and bends the petals
wheels turn
and the clunk clunk of time
gently hammers nails onto a coffin
as the clock merrily chimes
as i dream,
i feel time closing in
i circle the rim of the glass
with its bitter sweet gin
wheels turn
the palpable sound of fear
drums its fingers on a table
of which pulls me near
the suspension of time
as it hangs me in disbelief
the cool taste of wonderment
that always lies beneath
