Losing You?
Losing you,
are you in my way?
Wisps of smoke —
are you in a witch’s coven?
Is this some kind of joke
just to ease the pain?
It’s been a few days since I was at ease.
Telephone —
just an unknown,
ready to stumble and ready to please.
This is the time
to be grown in your own home.
Magic music casts you across the sea,
but when I am alone
it’s then that you seem like the answer to me.
And as you get close,
I realise I need you,
but now I have become distant —
more than before then,
more than we occupied our yesteryear,
when I played a different game.
And to calm the pain, I shed a tear,
with lost shadows hanging on the wall.
Are you so far away
after all?
Now, now you seem so small.
