I Woke Up This Morning

i woke up this morning in bed
and i lay there with the june sun –
streaming in through the windows
i was thinking of you
and the though did more than just linger
it was so real and so strong
i could even hold it with my fingers
i lay there
with the sun picking out my sadness
as it danced its way across my bedroom
but life, it does not stay still
it has no sympathy no matter how you feel
i woke up this morning,
and the feelings felt so real
