Badge – Written Monday 4th April 2016 (Aged 41)

Badge

my badges are kept in a box
my shields,
are only for display
my life,
for what it is,
has one or two bows –
tied around one or two gifts
my badges,
people never see
i rarely talk about them
and who wants to pin their insanity?
i have had to change my display
put some of my artifacts firmly away
i have had to change the exhibition
to remove the exhibitionist
some say they are never missed
and that i am, ‘okay’, as i am
could i ask you, could i ask you
could i ask you, please understand
