Friendship Connections – Written Wednesday 21st September 2005 (Aged 30)

Friendship Connections

have you ever had friends?
been reckless –
long after the night ends
with tired and weary singing
singing at the top of your voice
wandering down the high street
finding your emotions
amongst too much choice
finding out who you are
discovering your own unique voice
have you never had friends?
growing up through phases
that you wish you’d not gone through
taken up when feeling plainly down
held by the hand –
when it felt like you would drown
just let yourself go,
because you are young
and it is okay that you just do not know
talked till the morning,
long after sleep came in –
and started yawning
have you every had friends?
