Poor Joanna
poor joanna –
she disappeared down an alleyway
never to sing again
has nothing to say
as she sailed away on a river of gin
poor joanna
no inheritance from her parents
except the problems they once had
they feed her nightmares
and make her sad
poor joanna
she goes lost in the pages of a good book
she found the a to z
but he is too scared to look
so pity poor joanna
as hope hangs silently on a hook
