Adventures

i can measure ten years
even twenty,
adventures?
i have had plenty
too many for the brain to retrain
too many to mention
but despite all this,
the lack of brain retention
i can still smile in the rain
through the loss
through the gain
remember when –
it was us against them
not so much mice and men
more like,
if and when
i can remember ten years
even twenty,
adventures?
i have had plenty
