Selling Daylight
too many genres
not easy to find
too many subplots
an uneasy mind
the return slip is pleasant
they don’t want to be unkind
but that book i wrote,
it’s my life
everything they say,
wrong or right,
it’s just me,
as in life, and as in what i write
they are looking to sell daylight
i just offer the night
it’s an ambitious work
well, that is my life
too many genres
and we cannot work out –
exactly what is going on
i just do not know where to go
or how to let go,
but this pain, it’s one i cannot show
