Did You Think?

did you think –
that i would accept without any questions
did you think i came from that place
that twitches behind the net curtains
did you ever think about me?
did you know that one i had been a fighter
of course,
it was between the ups and downs
and days as a river boat writer
did you think –
i would would accept without any questions
did you really want my blessing
i am afraid that i don’t do your kind of holy
in your world,
do people talk to you no matter what you say
you just accept no matter what
is that how it works?
beaten with a belt designed to impose respect
the cup of autumn leaves,
that a family once failed to collect
