Revolution in the Streets
you had better watch out—
there’s going to be a revolution,
a revolution in the streets.
blood in the gutters,
shutters closed tight—
but it’s no good hiding indoors.
it’s them and us.
them—
the pretty, the rich.
us—
downtrodden,
living in a ditch.
but if we stand together,
stick together,
we can win together.
times are changing fast.
the gap between rich and poor
has grown so vast—
surely, society’s values
cannot last.
time creeps,
but soon, you can bet—
there’s going to be a revolution,
a revolution in the streets.
men and women,
marching feet,
and tanks—
parked at the end of our streets.
