Wizard’s Hat

girl,
you sure are weird.
when i see you,
i sure am scared—
those magic things
that you do.

you’ve got a power,
hidden in your mind,
medicine in your fingers.

i’m sure you know—
my future,
my past.

girl,
you dance at midnight,
you travel the tunnels of light,
with shadows
in your mind.

you dress in jeans,
but no wizard’s hat,
or so it seems.
