Need To Perform
you need to perform –
with the kind of perfection
which masks –
your once faulty direction
walking up to people –
as a child,
one who is left wanting
standing in a line
being told,
it’s okay, it is fine
hard done by,
and of confidence,
so easily shorn
it fuels –
only the need to perform
