Tell-Tale Winds – Written Monday 26th February 2024 (Aged 49)

Tell-Tale Winds

i never really talk about myself
not as a city,
not as a city that has experienced –
considerable damage
and so much change
not as a city,
with a family name
i never really talk about myself
not as a city,
not as a city that has experienced –
so many deep rooted attacks
one whose foundations sway –
and occasionally fall back
i am shards,
and there are people like you,
good people,
people for whom complications –
have thankfully being a distant shore
people like you –
with a functional working core
instilled by caregivers –
who had a kindly drill and bore
i never really talk about myself
not as a city,
not as a city that has been exposed –
to such tell-tale winds
one that has been populated by such love
of both lovers and friends
