There is Loneliness in Decision Making – Written Friday 16th February 2024 (Aged 48)

There is Loneliness in Decision Making

there is loneliness in decision making
in, being somewhere here…
there is loneliness attached to, ‘doing well’,
and then there are tears,
to wash down any isolation,
there is loneliness,
when you move away from crowds
in responsibility and accountability
then, you have your own sounds
there is difference and indifference,
where opinions are aired
when you actually own your values
and when you readily share
shadows are appealing,
if you have a, ‘hidey hole’, for your feelings
if it is easier to tread a path of least resistance
and if you want to purge all from your memory
there is a loneliness in standing out
having the courage of your convictions
offering tickets, but never as a tout
adding intelligence and sophistication
not offering views that comes across as a lout
but, there is loneliness in decision making
looking inside,
and considering, why you?
the contradiction of wanting to be heard
yet, not seen,
me, just there,
shadow boxing with my self esteem
trying to say precisely what you means
but there is often loneliness and isolation –
in all of these situations,
and there is always loneliness in decision making
