Height of Fashion – Written Sunday 20th August 2023 (Aged 48)

Height of Fashion

what if –
another story is not the height of fashion
what if –
it lacks heart wrenching passion
what if –
it’s the wrong colour or even hue
then,
what should we do?
what is this scale of values that we hope to scale
what if –
another story –
it just another internal struggle destined to fail
acceptance and identity tumble out of me
i wonder how many people –
can ever straighten that out inside their head
because social constraints,
are so easily led
and the concept of belonging needs to be well fed
so what if –
another story was meaningful with what it said
