Breathe In, Breathe Out

learn to be grateful
you know you can do that
do not get so tangled up –
in proving points –
that do not matter
remember, you are strong
even if ego easily shatters
just hold on there,
remember who you are
success is not a distance measured
and though you have come far
just calm down,
do not let silliness rule your head
just remember,
you do not need to prove a thing
of course,
nightmares do attend the ball
often dressed up as dreams
just remember that behind the mask
are only human beings
and people can work in that factory
forming opinions on the lathes
but remember you are loved
and of course, differently made
learn to be calm,
and do not panic in the stronger winds
let love, let friends, let talent
let all those things be your guiding friend
not insecurities and vanity,
which can drag us all to sticky ends
